Google geht mit Chrome V3 in die nächste Betarunde. Wer also ausprobieren und Neues entdecken will, der ist mit der Version 3.0.193.2 momentan auf dem neusten Stand. Nutzer der aktuellen Beta können sich diese hier zur Installation herunterladen – alle anderen bekommen natürlich die portable Version zum Ausprobieren. Eigentlich wollte ich erst heute abend die Beta raushauen – aber hier sind schon einige E-Mails von Leuten eingetrudelt, die scheinbar nicht abwarten können. Also – viel Spaß und schönes Wochenende!

Wirklich? Das Prinzip von Werbung ist doch grade dass, das Du es nicht merkst wie Du schon wieder auf Werbung hereingefallen bist! Genau das ist doch das Prinzip von Google und dafür werden sie bezahlt Dir die Werbung unterzujubeln die Dir dann an jeder Stelle sagt „kauf mich“…! Streuwerbung kann ich einfach „übersehen“.

Ja genau, sie sammeln deine Daten und verkaufen sie an Dritte weiter, sagte ich ja. Und das tut auch Googles Browser… Datensammeln.
Wem das egal ist kann ihn ohne Probleme nutzen. Und alles anderen sollen die Finger davon lassen oder ihn von Google befreien.

@caschy: I’m using Windows 7 RC. I don’t think there are many major changes between the RC and the RTM release. I’m still getting the „Unable to run script“ error if I run the ChromeLoader.exe and this error if I run the autoit script you posted.
“The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application”
I also tried running ChromeLoader.exe in administrative and compatibility mode. same results.
Maybe there’s something that you have installed that I don’t.
I was able to run the Chrome\Chrome.exe file, and it loads the GUI, give me the above error and keeps chrome open, but I cannot visit any sites. Nothing loads.
All i can say: it works fine with Win7 RTM. Any chances to install 7 RTM in a Sandbox like VirtualBox? 😉
Hey Caschy. I have some good news. I got it to work in Windows 7 RC. I set chrome.exe to run as Administrator and the only way I could get it working was to run it from the AutoIt script you gave me. Your packaged executable did not work, even with chrome.exe set to run as admin.
I’m not sure if you’ve heard of Iron before. It’s basically Google Chrome, but without all the google (lack of) privacy stuff — so it doesn’t send any info back to google. It’s based off the Chromium source. It’s the closest thing to google chrome you can get without it actually being google chrome. Btw, it has it’s own portable version.
Anyways, my point is, when I downloaded and tried to run it, I got the same error as your portable chrome, the 0xc0000005 error. And again, the only way I could get it to run is set the exe to run as administrator. This doesn’t make sense because it’s not in a system folder of any kind. It’s in the root of the C:\ drive.
In the process of all this testing I also found this (which has information about the error… why it happens and how to fix it):
„However SRWare Iron may throw the same issues like in google Chrome, namely the Chrome 0xc0000005 error and Chrome winhttp.dll crash. These could be resolved in the same manner as outlined in those articles.“

Maybe you can implement the fix it into Portable Google Chrome for people who want to use it.

try to extract it to your desktop
