Qualcomm hat zusammen mit Mozilla bekanntgegeben, dass man im Moment dabei ist, eine Firefox-Version für Windows-Computer mit Snapdragon-ARM-Prozessoren zu entwickeln und somit einen Browser bereitzustellen, der für die Plattform optimiert ist und besser laufen soll als die Konkurrenz.
Firefox lässt geöffnete Tabs auf unterschiedlichen Kernen im Prozessor laufen und der neue Snapdragon 8cx-Prozessor hätte genügend Ressourcen verfügbar. Mozilla sagt in einem Blog-Post, dass man gespannt ist, wie die Zusammenarbeit mit Qualcomm läuft und wie das Ergebnis aussehen wird.

Mehr Details sind zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt noch nicht bekannt. Auch ist unklar, wann der Browser fertig sein wird. Neben Firefox wird höchstwahrscheinlich auch Chrome für die genannte Plattform erscheinen. Commits im Chromium-Gerrit zufolge arbeitet Google mit Microsoft an einer entsprechenden Lösung.
