OnePlus startet die Verteilung für das C.44-Update von OxygenOS 12 für das OnePlus 9 sowie das OnePlus 9 Pro. Das Update soll nun auch für EU-Nutzer bereitstehen und für jene zahlreichen Neuerungen im Bauch haben. Nachdem man das fehlerhafte Update aus dem Verkehr zog, hatte man es für EU-Nutzer zuletzt nicht mehr in die Verteilung gegeben. Heißt in anderen Worten: Android 12 wird auch wieder für deutsche Nutzer eines OnePlus 9 (Pro) verteilt. Wie üblich erfolgt die Verteilung in Wellen, sodass es dennoch noch einige Tage andauern könnte, bis euch das Update letztlich erreicht.
Mit dem Update auf Android 12 hat auch OxygenOS einige Neuerungen dazugewonnen. Das wären neben Überarbeitungen für Shelf mit Optionen zur OnePlus Watch und den OnePlus Buds Pro auch die neuen Work-Life-Balance-Optionen. Entsprechend aufgebläht liest sich auch das Changelog, auch wenn die Neuerungen per se schon etwas länger Bestandteil von OxygenOS 12 sind. Man gibt zudem bekannt, dass das Update zahlreiche Probleme löst, die man wohl bis dato hatte.
Das Update auf C.44 hat neben Neuerungen und behobenen Problemen auch den jüngsten Android-Sicherheitspatch von Januar 2022 im Gepäck. OnePlus gibt an, dass man den Stromverbrauch des Systems optimiert habe, was sich in verlängerter Akkulaufzeit niederschlägt. Optimiert wurde auch das Entsperren per Fingerabdruck. Ebenso hat man zahlreiche Probleme mit der Benachrichtigungsleiste behoben.
Optimierungen wurden außerdem der Kamera zuteil. Da hat man die Geschwindigkeit beim Starten verbessert und ebenso die Reaktionsgeschwindigkeit bei Videoaufnahmen. In einigen Fällen gab es zudem Probleme mit 5G-Netzwerken, die hat man mit dem Update wohl ebenfalls ausgeräumt.
Ich bin nun schon einige Monate mit OxygenOS 12 unterwegs und muss sagen, dass ich mit dem Misch-Masch aus Color OS nicht wirklich warm werde. Man verwendet quasi nur noch einen Überzug für OxygenOS und das stellenweise auch nicht konsequent. Unter anderem zahlreichen Einstellungen, wie jenen für die Akkudetails, sieht man da den Color-OS-Look direkt an. OnePlus kündigte ja an, dass man bis zum nächsten Flaggschiff den Sprung auf ein vereintes System wagen wird. Stand jetzt sieht das aber nur aus nach „alter Wein in neuen Schläuchen“. Schade. So macht man neben den ohnehin schon verschlechterten Update-Frequenzen in Sachen Softwarequalität wohl eher Rückschritte, als dass man von der Synergie mit Oppo profitiert. Wer da vermutete, dass sich diese in höheren Taktraten bei den Updates auswirkt und auch sonst das OS verbessert, der wird wohl eher (derzeit) enttäuscht sein.
