Der ein oder andere von euch kennt sicherlich das Unternehmen Blue, die vor allem für ihr Mikrofone mit dem Namen Yeti und Snowball bekannt sind. Logitech gab gestern Abend in einem Blog-Post bekannt, dass man eben jenes Unternehmen übernehmen werde und somit seinen Footprint im Audiobereich verfestigt. Man hat mit den Marken Ultimate Ears, Jaybird und ASTRO Gaming bereits drei namhafte Hersteller im Portfolio und nimmt mit Blue nun den Vierten in den Konzern auf.
Der Deal soll insgesamt 117 Millionen US-Dollar schwer sein. Logitech CEO Bracken Darrel äußert sich im Blog folgendermaßen:
“Logitech’s acquisition of Blue Microphones will accelerate our entry into a growing market, and offers another way for us to help bring people’s passions (from music to blogging) to life. Joining with Blue is an adjacent opportunity for us – a new way to grow – with additional synergies related to our existing gaming, PC webcam and audio categories. It’s exciting!”
Auch Blue informiert seine Nutzer in einem separaten Post über die neue Konstellation und möchte zusammen mit Logitech weiterhin neue tolle Produkte bauen.
