Das Nexus 5X verfügt über ein 5,2 Zoll großes Display. Dieses Display mit In-Cell-Touch-Technologie löst mit Full HD auf, zeigt also 1920 x 1080 Pixel bei 423 ppi an. Geschützt wird das Display hierbei von Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Man verbaut im Nexus 5X einen Prozessor mit sechs Kernen, konkret gesagt den 1,8 GHz starken Qualcomm Snapdragon 808, der von 2 GB RAM unterstützt wird. Hierbei setzt man nicht auf LPDDR4, sondern auf den Vorgänger LPDDR3.
Zwei Kameras sind an Bord des Nexus 5X von LG, hier setzt man auf eine 12,3 Megapixel starke Hauptkamera mit f/2.0 Blende und eine 5 Megapixel Frontkamera, die ebenfalls über eine f/2.0 Blende verfügt. Die Hauptkamera kann Videos in 4K aufnehmen und verfügt über einen Dual Flash und einen Infrarot Laser-Autofokus.
