Als ob Smartphones nicht reichen würden – Panasonic hat heute eine Partnerschaft mit Mozilla bekanntgegeben. Ziel: Das Firefox OS auf Smart TV-Geräte bringen. Diese Partnerschaft soll Nutzern das Web, moderne HTML5-Technologien und das offene Ökosystem nicht nur auf Smartphones oder Tablets zugänglich machen, sondern eben auch auf dem Smart TV. „Through Panasonic’s partnership with Mozilla, we will create further innovation in smart TV technologies and features, which will take consumers to a whole new level of interaction and connectivity inside and outside of the home“, so Yuki Kusumi, Director of the TV Business Division bei Panasonic. Ganz ehrlich? Firefox OS ist so ziemlich das Letzte, was ich mir auf einem Smart TV derzeit vorstellen kann.
